In this article, we will focus on Kora National Park Entrance Fees. Kora National Park is located in Tana River County, on the northern boundary with Garissa, the nearest city in Kenya. The National Park was once the home of renowned wildlife conservationist George Adamson, also known as ‘Baba ya Simba’ (Father of Lions). Elsa, the lion from the film Born Free, lived here. Poachers were a major problem on the former reserve in the 1980s and 1990s; George Adamson was murdered by poachers here in 1989. At Kora, there are plans to build a lion sanctuary. Until then, the main draw is its pristine, untouched wilderness, which any self-sufficient adventurer can explore.
Kora National Park is linked to several other parks and reserves, including Meru National Park. All of the big safari animals cross borders and can be found in Kora. However, due to heavy poaching, animal densities are quite low, and the park should not be visited for the typical wildlife experience. Elephants, hippos, hyenas, and several antelope species are just a few of the animals you might see.
Kora’s main attraction is its scenery. The endless plains are broken up by inselbergs, or domed hills that appear to ‘float’ above the landscape. One of the park’s boundaries is the beautiful Tana River, which is lined with magnificent doum palms. Adamson’s Falls, Grand Falls, and the Kora Rapids are among the Tana River’s features.
