Here is a step-by-step guide on how to check your Green Card Lottery Result in 2024. The names of the long-awaited DV 2025 Lottery winners, which grant up to 55,000 cards to applicants, will finally be published on Saturday, May 4, 2024. The results to be published are for those who entered the Diversity Visa Lottery during the last Entry or Registration period, which ran from October 4, 2023, to November 7, 2023.

The US Department of State manages this lottery and randomly selects people from countries that have low immigration rates to the US. Every year in May, the US Department of State announces the results of the Green Card Lottery.

How To Check For DV Lottery 2025 Results

According to the US Department of State, applicants for the Diversity Visa 2025 (DV-2025) program can check the status of their application by entering the confirmation details on the official website.
The process for DV 2025 will begin on May 4, 2024.
Applicants are advised to keep the confirmation number handy until September 30, 2025, for reference.
The entry period for the DV 2025 program was between October 4, 2023, and November 7, 2023.

Here is how to check your Green Card Lottery results for 2024

Go to the official website of the DV Lottery: https://dvprogram.state.gov/
Click on the “Entrant Status Check” link.
Enter your Confirmation Number. This is the unique number that you received when you submitted your Green Card Lottery application. If you do not have your confirmation number, you can retrieve it by clicking on the “Forgot Confirmation Number” link and providing the necessary information.
Enter your Last/Family Name as it appears on your application.
Enter your Year of Birth.
Complete the Captcha code to prove that you are not a robot.
Click on the “Submit” button.
If you are a winner, the check will indicate that you have been SELECTED as a DV lottery winner. You will then need to confirm your details and schedule an interview with the US immigration visa department.
If your entry indicates HAS NOT BEEN SELECTED, it means you are not the winner, unfortunately.

What to do after being selected for DV Lottery 2025?

Once selected, please take your time and gather all the information you can. Once you spend the first few days or weeks learning about the process, then fill out your DS260. Ideally, before May ends. All those selected will be given a case number. That will start with 2024AF. If your case number is low, ensure you fill out your DS260 before the end of May and gather all documents as quickly as possible. Case numbers go from 1 to above 60k. After winning, that’s when the real wait begins.

Interviews will begin on October 1st and continue until next year, on September 30th. It’s a very long wait for most people. Once you submit DS260, you will wait for your second notification letter from the Kentucky Consular Centre, which will inform you when your interview will be at the Embassy. Before your interview, you MUST do medical.
