In this post, we will cover Kitengela Glass Bridge Entrance Fees. The Kitengela Glass Scary Bridge is not located in Kitengela, but rather in Ongata Rongai, Kajiado County. It is currently one of the scariest bridges in Kenya. The suspended swaying bridge hangs about 100 meters above a deep river valley connecting Kitengela Glass to Masai Lodge.
The suspended bridge is made of wire and glass, with large gaps in the railing. Not for the faint of heart. The crossing can be scary, especially when you get in the middle, where the winds are sturdily swaying the bridge sideways. The bridge can only accommodate seven people at a time, and you are accompanied by a guide. We do not recommend it for children due to the lack of side coverage.
Kitengela Glass Swaying Bridge was built in early 2000 by Nani Croze, a German artist who settled in Kenya in the 1970s after falling in love with the environment. Nani Croze is also the owner and operator of Nani Kitengela Glass, while her son Anselm Croze is the proprietor of Anselm Kitengela Hot Glass. The workshops are separate but share the same grounds.
There are also two art galleries, stained glass, blown glass and dalle de verde studios as well as a pottery studio and shop. There are funky cottages for rent and a magical swimming pool. Nani has a menagerie of animals, wild and domestic, including camels you can ride.
Kitengela Glass Bridge Location
At the railway station in Nairobi CBD, take a matatu or bus to Rongai. It will cost you between Ksh 50 and Ksh 100, depending on the time. Start your journey before 11 am to arrive early. You will then arrive at Masai Lodge. There are several tuk-tuks and motorcycles on the side where you will alight. You can take a boda or a tuk-tuk to Kitengela Glass. If you’re travelling with friends, a tuk-tuk is a great option because it can carry up to four people and is also less expensive because you’ll be splitting the costs. The road is quite bumpy and most of it is not tarmacked; it’s a dusty arid drive. You get to see amazing views of the city and if you’re lucky, some of the animals roaming around Nairobi National Park.
