This article focuses on The Forest, Kereita Zip Lining Charges. Kereita is located in Kimende town. It’s just one hour from Nairobi city centre.
The Forest is East Africa’s longest zip line tour, offering over 2.2km of flight across the lush Kereita forest. This includes 6 zip lines with the longest being 425 metres. There is a carrying capacity of a maximum of 115 kilograms and a minimum height requirement of 1.4 metres.
The Colobus Catapult is the first zip line (425m). This zip line launches you from the Adventure centre across the valley to the second zip line, The Flying Elephant with speeds of up to 60kph. The Flying Elephant (385m) has a spectacular aerial view of the forest while the third zip line is called The Eagle’s Nest (395m). At 150ft, you will have a perfect view of the giant trees in Kereita Forest as well as the canopies that make the forest such a beautiful sight.
The Big Sky is the fourth zip line (360m) with a direct view of Mount Kenya and leads to the Moo..ving Target (325m). The latter gets its name from the cows that love this trail because of its amazing views.
The Kereita Forest Activities
The Forest is also a perfect location to enjoy other activities such as Archery, Mountain biking, Nature walks, Paintballing, Fly fishing, Camping, Team building, and Tree planting.
Things to note about Ziplining at The Forest, Kereita
1. It is advisable to go in trousers and wear comfy shoes. Trousers are encouraged to make the harness strapping process easier. For the ladies, trousers, shorts or leggings are best. Also, don’t forget to empty your pockets.
2. Avoid zip lining if you are pregnant or over the weight limit (34-115kg) or have other health problems and impairments.
3. Listen carefully to the drill given by the professional instructor and guide. Always pay attention to safety briefings. Ask questions if you may
4. Ensure the full-body harness fits you. Do not rush the experience, otherwise, you will not enjoy every minute while it lasts.
5. Plan to have a camera attached to you, so you can capture the moment of the whole ziplining experience.
6. Wear a helmet and gloves.
7. Wait for the clearance of other zipline users before you take your turn.
8. Make sure you book earlier because the place gets packed especially on weekends and holidays.
The Forest Kereita Zip Lining Charges
Entry Fee to The Forest, Kereita is Kshs 200 for adults and or Kshs 50 for students and under 18 years person. The Zip lining charges are Kshs 1,800 for 2 lines and Kshs 2,800 for the 6 lines. All payments are made via Paybill or M-PESA, cash is not accepted.
