5. Watu Credit

Watu Credit was founded in 2015. Since then, the Fin-Tech company has grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the largest financial services providers to those at the bottom of the pyramid in Kenya. The company provides up to 80% financing on your preferred car’s market value. That is to say, if you are buying a Toyota Probox valued at Kshs 1,300,000, they finance you to the tune of Kshs 1,040,000.

With WATU the cost of the loan is 2.5% per month or roughly 30% per annum. As such, a Kshs 1,000,000 borrowed for 36 months will cost you roughly Kshs 51,000 per month, and this is inclusive of loan processing fees and insurance costs.
