The cottage is very cosy and has a lot of DIY pieces. The most interesting one is a charcoal cooler which acts as a fridge. The space is a two-bedroomed farmhouse and sleeps 4 comfortably. 6 if two people don’t mind crashing on the couch. (This would have to be indicated before booking as a special request). The place is off the grid and we have made a conscious effort to still provide the comforts of home. Electricity to charge your phone or laptop or power bank is available from 6 pm to 7 am courtesy of a solar-powered battery. The same system powers the lighting. Hot water to shower has been made possible courtesy of a gas heater.

However, there is a new boutique hotel catering to JKIA and SGR travelers known as Kozi Suites. The hotel is located behind Gateway Mall in Syokimau and is only 10-15 minutes away from the airport and less than 10 minutes away from the SGR station. Their rates are very affordable and the charges for a studio suite are Ksh 3800 and Ksh 4800 for a one-bedroom suite. These rates are exclusive of meals but they have a restaurant where you can pay for a la carte meals. They also have a bar and a swimming pool which is free to all the residents.
