Ruma National Park Entrance Fees 2024

In this post, we look at Ruma National Park entrance fees. Ruma National Park is situated in Homabay County, Kenya, close to the shores of Lake Victoria. Those who have visited the park will tell you that it is the most rewarding park in the country, but there is very little information about it. The park is well-known for its wildlife viewing and birdwatching.

Ruma National Park is the only place in Kenya where you will be able to see the famous endangered Roan antelope and the Topi antelope. The Lambwe River valley, which is seasonal, adds to the park’s beauty. The Lambwe Valley is a must-see tourist destination. To the southeast, it is bounded by the Kanyamwa Escarpment. If you thought escarpments were only found in the Rift Valley, you’re in for a surprise. Apart from the escarpment, the volcanic plugs of the Ruri hill to the north will captivate you, making the park more beautiful and enjoyable. Ruma’s bird life is exceptional, and their singing in the evenings and mornings is breathtaking. You will be able to see the threatened blue swallow, a scarce intra-African migrant. Blue swallows, which depend upon moist grassland for both feeding and roosting, arrive in Kenya from their breeding grounds in southern Tanzania around April and depart again in September.

Ruma’s wildlife includes Rothschild’s giraffe, serval cat, hyena, impala, vervet monkey, roan antelope, oribi, bohor reedbuck, leopard, buffalo, and Jackson’s hartebeest. The black rhino, white rhino, and Burchell’s zebra are recently introduced and re-introduced species with adaptable populations. The roan antelope, Oribi, and Jackson’s hartebeest are more easily spotted in Ruma than anywhere else in Kenya.
