Olkaria Geothermal Spa (Naivasha) Rates

In this article, we will cover Olkaria Geothermal Spa Rates. The spa is located inside Hell’s Gate National Park in Naivasha. Olkaria Geothermal Hot Spa is a unique destination for a day’s trip to Hells Gate National Park or Naivasha. The facility is owned by Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen). The construction of the geothermal spa started in April 2011 and was completed in July 2013. It is the first of its kind and the largest Spa in Africa.

It is called a geothermal hot spa because of the hot water that is collected from the various wells within the plant and emptied into the pool. The temperature of the main pool ranges between 30-40 degrees centigrade.

The breathtaking view of the expansive main pool with the hills and towers of steam that seem to fuse with the clouds in the background draws your attention as you walk towards the poolside once you arrive at the Geothermal SPA. The adult pool is enormous, and if it weren’t for the tiny rock island in the centre, you’d think it was a mini-lake. Don’t worry if you have small children with you; there is a baby pool and playground equipment to keep them entertained. All the pools are made entirely out of steel-troweled concrete this is because the water here has natural minerals and cannot allow for the use of ceramic tiles. Four steps around the pool allow people to sit and relax in the warm water. The pool’s deepest point is only 1.5 metres deep.

Geothermal Spa Health Benefits

The water in the spa is completely natural; no artificial additives or treatments have been applied to it. Wet steam known as Brine is brought in by pipes and is allowed to cool before being released into the pool. The water is mineral-rich, with the highest concentrations of sulphur and silica. (That’s why the water seems cloudy. whitish) when you look at it from afar.

Bathing in a natural spa is said to have numerous health and skin benefits. It is said to be high in minerals like sulphur and silica, and it has been used to treat diseases like psoriasis, fibromyalgia, and arthritis. On the skin, the water feels divine. It’s almost as if you’re floating in an endless bathtub in some remote haven, gazing out at the hills and clear skies.

  1. Please work on Geothermal Spa restaurant. They do serve food nicely. Morning 11 they don’t have anything to serve up to 1.00pm. they don’t have variety. They don’t allow outside food and don’t give food there also. I had this experience more than 3 times
