In this post, we look at Nairobi Arboretum Entry Fees. Nairobi Arboretum is 30.4 hectares of wooded landscape, an oasis close to the heart of the city, situated in the Kilimani area, about 3 km from the city centre and adjacent to the State House. It is bounded by the Kirichwa Kubwa River, Arboretum Drive and Kenya Girl Guide Headquarters. It is one of Nairobi’s few remaining green spaces.
The Arboretum is a great picnic spot, complete with picnic tables, nature walks, exotic vegetation and trees, and enough space for a large group to enjoy themselves. The park has more than 350 indigenous and exotic tree species, more than 100 resident and migrant bird species, numerous vervet and syke’s monkeys that can be spotted hoping and playing from one tree to another tree; a multitude of insects, reptiles and small mammals that can also be spotted during nature walks. The Arboretum Park also provides an extremely popular venue for a variety of events, such as weddings, concerts, team building, and corporate parties; while lovebirds can enjoy spending romantic moments in its secluded spots.

Nairobi Arboretum Entrance Fees
This is one of the few places in Kenya that charges the same fee for citizens, residents and non-residents. The fee can be paid at the gate only via M-PESA or a card.

Nairobi Arboretum Opening Hours
The Arboretum is open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk since 1907. Visitors may enter from 6:00 am to 6:15 pm
Office hours: The Tree Centre, Monday–Friday, 8.00 am to 5.00 pm
Is Food allowed in Nairobi Arboretum?
Yes, food and soft drinks are permitted in the Nairobi Arboretum. There is also a restaurant near the main entrance where food can be purchased. However, alcohol and alcoholic beverages are not permitted within the park.
Nairobi Arboretum Rules
- Do not take away animals, animal products, plants or plant parts.
- Avoid unnecessary noise, as it disturbs both neighbours and other visitors.
- Do not mark or deface tree stems, stones and other features.
- Keep to the designated tracks and paths when walking in the forest.
- Do not feed wild animals.
- Take all the litter that you brought away with you.
- Enjoy yourself; in addition to seeing, pause and listen regularly.
- Do not start fires in the forest.
