The lakebed is lined to avoid contamination, and the water is chlorinated every few days, so is safe to swim in. A filtration system has been fitted to remove all of the sediment from the lake to make it clear. The park’s lifeguards are qualified by the Kenya Lifesaving Federation and recently completed a UK lifesaving open water course specific to lakes and aqua parks.

Maji Magic Activities And Prices

Participants are required to wear wet suits; similar to those worn by surfers and a buoyancy aid (a heavy-duty floater). One can opt to tackle the course barefoot or with special footwear. Before getting in the water, the participants watch a 10-minute security video. Cameras and phones are not allowed in the water unless one has a GoPro strapped on the body.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding or SUP, is the world’s fastest-growing watersport and is already a very popular activity on the coast. SUP consists of a large surfboard that you can kneel on or stand up on and propel yourself across the water with a paddle. It’s great fun but also fantastic exercise. Maji Magic also offers the increasingly popular SUP Yoga sessions that involve balancing on the boards while doing a yoga workout. SUP charges are Ksh 2,000 per person for a 1-hour session.

3. Kayaking

Experience a “splash and dash” taster session or let Maji Magic’s internationally trained and qualified kayak coaches take you up to an advanced level with our newly acquired fleet of whitewater kayaks. Kayaking charges are Ksh 2,000 per person for a 1-hour session. Kayaking lessons are also available at Ksh 3,000 per person for a 2-hour session.

4. Blaster Boats

Blaster boats are 6ft wide and round boats that you sit in by yourself. They have an inflatable pontoon to provide buoyancy to the main fibreglass shell. The boat is powered and steered by an electric motor, which also doubles as a giant water pistol for you to chase, crash into and squirt other boats. Lifejackets are worn and the boats are very stable so the chances of one tipping over or a person falling out are extremely low. Maji Magic’s lifeguards monitor the activity from start to finish. Blaster Boats charges are Ksh 500 per person for a 10-minute session.

Maji Magic Entrance Fees

The water park is open to adults and children from age six with a minimum height of 1.2 metres. You are also required to be in groups of two or three to keep watch over each other as you navigate around the course within the allocated time. Guardians must accompany children for every challenge.
