Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to apply for the new generation digital number plates in Kenya. The new plates are fitted on all imported vehicles at the point of entry, but owners of already registered vehicles will have to apply for the new plates. These new generation plates were launched by the government of Kenya on 30th August 2022.
The fonts and designs on the front and back plates are both visually appealing. In addition to being visually appealing, the new number plate includes a QR code, NTSA serial number, Kenyan flag, hologram, and microchip. It contains all of the vehicle’s information, such as ownership, color, year of manufacture, vehicle type, chassis number, and so on. The features will make it very easy for the government to improve road safety, reduce vehicle crime, and track stolen vehicles.
