In this article, we will look at the Sergoit Hill Wildlife Sanctuary entrance fees. Sergoit Hill is a rocky outcrop that rises above the Uasin Gishu Plateau. According to sources, the hill, which is located on the west side of the Great Rift Valley, has an elevation of approximately 6,857 feet (2,090 meters) above sea level. It is 20 kilometres northeast of Eldoret and 3 kilometres off the Eldoret-Iten road toward Moiben.

The Sergoit Hill Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on land owned by the Kruger family. The Kruger family, from Sergoit on the Moiben plateau, is a prominent farming family in Uasin Gishu County. They farm on a large scale on their 5,000 acres of highly mechanized farms. The family, now in its fourth generation, commercially farms maize, wheat, barley, and dairy farming and is an active conservationist. To maintain their farm, the family uses a variety of machinery, including ploughing tractors, combine harvesters, spraying machines, and road graders.

The Sergoit Hill Wildlife Sanctuary is 500 acres in size and home to a variety of wildlife, including Rothschild Giraffes, antelopes, duikers, and a wide variety of birds. Stephanus (Fanie) Petrus Kruger founded a wildlife sanctuary in 1996 and brought in thirteen giraffes. Kenya Wildlife Services (KWS) and the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (AFEW) support the sanctuary. It aims to save the Rothschild giraffe species, which is on the verge of extinction.

The Rothschilds live in open woodlands, savannahs, and grasslands and can be distinguished from other subspecies by their white leg stockings with no markings. They are the most endangered of the nine giraffe subspecies and are also known as Baringo giraffes. Aside from the Kruger farm in Sergoit, the Rothschild can also be found in Kenya’s Lake Nakuru National Park and northern Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park. They are seen in small herds, with males and females only mixing when mating.

Sergoit Hill has a pleasant climate, which draws visitors, and it is surrounded by prime agricultural land. The view from the hilltop is spectacular. It is also an excellent hiking location. Its terrain can be rough and difficult, but also exciting. Mt. Kenya can be seen to the east, Mt. Elgon to the west, the undulating Nandi Hills to the south, and the expansive Cherangany Hills to the north on a clear day.
